Accuracy & depth of valuation
AwardWallet publishes member-booking-derived valuations broken out by cabin and region (economy/premium vs business/first; short-haul vs long-haul), built bottom-up from actual member bookings (paid fare minus taxes, divided by points spent). PointBagel ships 130+ curated cents-per-point benchmarks keyed by program × redemption method, with min/typical/max ranges for each. AwardWallet’s methodology is transparent and empirical; PointBagel’s granularity answers "what CPP should I expect for this specific redemption?" keyed to the redemption method and wired into the optimizer.

Tracking vs optimization
AwardWallet is the canonical loyalty-balance tracker: 600+ programs, expiration alerts at 90/60/30 days plus daily in the last 7, a travel-history ledger (up to 10 years on Plus; 1 year on the free tier), elite-status progress. PointBagel tracks your balances too (manually, across the 45+ programs it models, with value history) and adds the optimization layer: earning-cap math (so you see real effective rates when you exceed Amex Gold’s $25k grocery cap), welcome-offer elevation alerts, transfer-partner routing with ratios, and annual fee ROI.

Transfer partners and redemption math
AwardWallet’s Transfer Times tool publishes transfer ratios and average posting times across 50+ programs and 100+ combinations (Amex, Chase, Citi, Capital One, Marriott) as a reference table - it reports the data without routing you to the highest-value transfer. PointBagel ships 115+ transfer partnerships with ratios, minimums, and processing times AND an optimizer that routes a balance to the best cents-per-point redemption, plus 70+ curated sweet spots (sourced, regularly-reviewed estimates like Air France 5,000-mile economy awards or Hyatt Category 4 hotels). The difference is routing and curation, not the existence of transfer data.

Security posture and data model
AwardWallet ships credit-card spend analysis against connected card accounts - per its App Store listing: "Add your bank accounts to AwardWallet and let AwardWallet analyze your spend and tell you if you are using the right credit cards." PointBagel uses Plaid for read-only bank aggregation, which covers any Plaid-supported issuer (which is most of them) without storing credentials, and feeds the optimization engine - earning caps, welcome-offer progress, benefit ROI - rather than a standalone analysis view. Both tools analyze spend from connected accounts; PointBagel’s Plaid connection is read-only and keeps banking credentials out of our system. Pick the connection model you prefer.

Mobile and browser coverage
AwardWallet runs on iOS and Android and ships browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge (per live store listings). PointBagel is web-first today with iOS, Android, and a browser extension on the roadmap. If multi-browser extension coverage is important to your workflow, AwardWallet has it. PointBagel’s web surface covers the full optimization feature set.

Ask an AI assistant about your wallet
PointBagel connects to ChatGPT, Claude, and other MCP-compatible assistants read-only, so you can ask about your own wallet: which card to use, what a balance is worth to transfer, whether a fee still pays for itself, answered from your data. AwardWallet does not document a connection to ChatGPT, Claude, or other AI assistants; its surface is balance tracking and spend analysis inside its own app. If reaching your rewards data from the assistant you already use matters to you, that is a PointBagel-side capability today.
