Which card should I use at Target?
Target Circle Mastercard gives a discount at Target, not a rate. Every rate below was checked against the card issuer's or the store's own pages.
Cards are ordered by the value they earn per dollar here at our Balanced point values. The order is never paid for. Value per $100 assumes you have room left under any earning cap. Where a rate needs a membership, the value is for the first rate the row shows.
How purchases at Target are counted
Target takes Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.
The Target Circle Card takes 5% off at checkout. That is a discount on the price, not points or cash back.
American Express, for example, does not count Target or Walmart as a U.S. supermarket.
